An old English idiom spells out best what the Romans once referred to as „CARPE DIEM“: „Time and tides wait for no man“. As the low and high tides change their shifts on the oceans’ shorelines, men struggle with their lives, their ambitions and their dreams. As real as they are or seem and as little surmountable the obstacles of life may seem, one needs to be reminded that this one life in our hand is one of the greatest wonders and miracles and only if we are brave enough to learn living this life we will have used our times, and enjoyed our tides. Once we are gone, time and times will continue to move, as for man no time will wait.

Wie auch immer real diese sind und wie unüberwindbar sie auch immer erscheinen mögen oder sind, man muss sich selber immer daran erinnern, dass dies das einzige Leben in unseren Händen ist, und dass jedes einzelne Leben – jedes für sich – eines der grössten Wunder dieser Welt ist. Nur wenn wir mutig genug sind, dieses Leben zu leben lernen, werden wir unsere Zeit genutzt haben und unsere Flut und Ebben erlebt haben. Wenn wir einmal gegangen sind, wird die Zeit weiterhin laufen und die Gezeiten sich weiterhin abwechseln, da für uns Menschen keine Ebbe, keine Flut warten wird.
