Enough years is the first single that Donna Zed is releasing in a full band formation. This song rests close to her heart because it talks about toxic relationships and the obsession/addiction one can develop towards another person. Nowadays we can way more easily entertain a toxic obsession over someone or something ( hello technology) than a decade ago, getting hooked on someone or something or even the idea of someone can be dangerous. In the case of relationships, we tend to disconnect from what’s truly in front of us and idealize the whole thing through the use of social media and being #couplegoals. No one wants to show the bad and the ugly, even though everyone has their ups and downs! We get caught up in the very own lies we spread and are surprised when reality hits us, we don’t necessarily know what’s real or not for a second once we get overwhelmed by too many emotions. So, Enough Years was written to illustrate this particular problem that so many of us subconsciously are victims of and how one could realize the trap they’re in, while not knowing how to get out of it.
