A RED DRESS is about the missing, murdered, and raped Indigenous women.
In North America, 84.3% of Indigenous women have currently experienced violence (56.1% of which was rape). Many young women disappear and are either found dead or declared missing forever.
The red hand symbolizes "the voices that were silenced," and the red dress is meant to be hung on a tree in front of the house so that the souls of the dead or missing can find their way home.
