Leonard Peltier is a Native American activist and one of the leaders of AIM (American Indian Movement). Although there was no evidence, Leonard Peltier was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 2 FBI agents in 1977. He spent almost 50 years behind bars and was treated as a political prisoner. In January 2025, President Biden released him. Leonard Peltier never gave up and always fought for his people, dedicating his life to the indigenous cause. For Native Americans, he is a 'Nelson Mandela.' This song was written while Leonard was still in prison.
