“Vanlife Take One” is more than just a track - it’s a moment captured between setting out and freedom. Created in the summer of 2024 while Plektron was on the road in a van, this song embodies the essence of being on the move: that quiet thrill in the early morning when the air is still cool, the streets are empty, and the day lies ahead full of possibilities.
The track blends Jackin House and Tech House with a clear mission: feel-good energy. As landscapes pass by outside and new encounters unfold, “Vanlife Take One” provides the perfect soundtrack - funky, driving, and yet relaxed. It’s the musical companion for everyone who doesn’t just seek freedom, but lives it.
At the center is the rhythmically played Hohner Clavinet C (The Funk Box), recorded directly and very percussively without reverb, giving the track its unmistakable funk character. Inspired by the tradition of classic funk recordings - think of Stevie Wonder’s iconic use of this instrument - Plektron reinterprets this sound: more modern, more club-oriented, and uncompromisingly focused on groove.
The shuffling hi-hats create a bouncy, almost dance-like movement, while atmospheric synth pads repeatedly open up space and give the track a floating expansiveness - like a flying carpet on the way to the next destination. This balance of drive and lightness makes “Vanlife Take One” a true summer anthem: Funk 2.0, Feel-Good 2026.
Composed, arranged, mixed, and mastered by Plektron, with valuable co-production by Luk Walther (ttmc.ch), the track is released on the in-house label mother releases.
A song for the road, for the moment - and for everyone who knows that the journey is often the real destination.
