BirdNotFree releases “Musical Maniac”
Today, we step out of our electrified, avatar‑driven universe and into something more personal. This time, we’re sharing an accordion- and guitar driven acoustic track that brings us back to the roots of why BirdNotFree exists at all.
With “Musical Maniac,” we wanted to strip everything down. Just melody, memory, and the kind of storytelling that only acoustic instruments can carry.
BirdNotFree began in 2019 as a conceptual multimedia project rooted in folk and blues. This release feels like a return to that origin point - a reminder that behind all the virtual worlds and visual experiments, there is and always has been a human pulse guiding everything we do.
“Musical Maniac” launches our new cover series, Echoes – Songs We Carry. The song - written by Ben and Louis, friends from Birdman’s Amsterdam days - resurfaced unexpectedly while we were fixing up Grandma's house at Lily’s Run, playing through an old tape deck. There it was. Raw. Distorted. Imperfect. Beautiful. - Album Songs we carry
