Credits and thanks

RAVÌS was born from the encounter between the different ways Italian is spoken in Switzerland: words, inflections and dialects that change from one valley to another, from one village to the next, and that can sometimes be difficult to understand even for people living just a few kilometres apart.

The lyrics play with this very idea: “How do you say it here? How do you say it there? You say something to me, I say something to you, but in the end, do we really understand each other?”

Fragments of language become rhythm, repetition and sound. Words are no longer used only to communicate: they become musical material.

RAVÌS is the first track from MURMÜR, a project conceived by Kety Fusco to bring the languages, dialects, stories and oral memory of Italian-speaking Switzerland into contemporary music.
