You can find them everywhere along the Upper Rhine – fossilized ammonites, spiral-shaped remnants of an ancient sea. Protected in the rock for millions of years, indestructible, full of secrets. For us, these fossils are more than just rock – they are teachers. They remind us that true strength grows silently, that ancient wisdom endures, and that everything in life runs in cycles. It is this very cycle of past, present, and future that "The Ammonites" sing about.
Six musicians, one spirit.
Drums and bass lay down the heartbeat, the guitar is sharp and full of blues, the violin both weeps and laughs at once, the keys bathe everything in warm dub-delay, and the voices carry the message: love against hate, awareness over consumption, reconnection with nature, Jah Rastafari as the way to the goal.
Our sound! Not a retro show – it’s a direct link to the sacred studios of the 70s and early 80s: Studio One, Black Ark, Channel One, and many more. We didn’t just listen to these records; we lived them. For over ten years, we’ve been performing on stages in Switzerland, Germany, and England – under different names, in different line-ups. We’ve internalized that reggae is not just a music style, but a way of life.
Today, we step into the light as "The Ammonites". No compromises, no trends – just pure roots reggae energy.
