The Charlie Gilbert & The Boogie Heads are a vintage Rock band (60's style) derived from a 2017 line-up gathered by Charlie Gilbert. Prior to that, the band was known as Charlie Gilbert & The Rockin’ Bluesmen (2014-2016). During all these years, their line-up has regularly evolved. The longest serving Boogie Heads, behind Charlie Gilbert, were drummer Angelo Oliva and guitarist Chalie Grossenbacher (2017-2023).
By the end of 2023, Charlie Gilbert & The Boogie Heads entered a transition phase, following several months of travel by Angelo Oliva and the departure of lead guitar player Charlie G. At the same time, several compositions by Charlie Gilbert were recorded, some of them with guest musicians, as part of the album "The True Meaning of Rock (2024). The 2023-2025 line-up was as follows : Charlie Gilbert, vocals and guitar; Angelo Oliva, drums, Claude Maître, bass; James Dore, lead Guitar; and, as long time support musician, Luca Maturo, harmonica, guitar and vocals
The summer 2025 brought then drastic changes in the line up, coupled with a re-location to Neuchâtel. Marc-O, lead guitar, who previously helped the band for a 2023 radio show and contributed to the recording of four songs in late 2023 became a full member of the Boogie Heads. Daniel Bardet on bass and Nathan Isou, drums, joined the band in October 2025. Concerts resumed in December 2025, and the recording of a four songs EP started in January 2026, whose title track is "Rocker Lady". The EP is now available on Bandcamp, on mx3 and on Spotify.
