The Sad-Dancy-Boy is back! THYMIAN effortlessly blends 80s New Wave and modern Synth-Pop. With recurring themes such as doubt, change, and fears, he uses his work as self-therapy to actively challenge stigmas.
Already in 2019, THYMIAN was able to attract attention with his first 10" EP (Wave Records, Brazil), and in 2021 with his debut album "Rhythm of Doubt" (Young & Cold Records). With his new EP "White Knuckled," which will be released on May 17th, a clear evolution away from the very typical Dark Wave of the past releases is evident. While the wavy melodies and the slightly melancholic mood remain intact, there is now a substantial dose of 80s synth-pop and a touch of New Romantic feeling added. The songs are reminiscent of old heroes like Duran Duran, paired with the wave sound of Pink Turns Blue or currently Drab Majesty.
Throughout his career, THYMIAN has shared the stage with giants like Molchat Doma, Trentemøller, The KVB, and many others, was featured in Ellen Allien's Boiler Room set in Sydney, and boasts almost half a million streams on Spotify alone.
