Swiss singer-songwriter Valeria Jacob, with Brazilian roots, blends the soulful energy of 80s and 90s R&B/pop-dance with a modern twist. Her powerful voice and meaningful lyrics aim to touch both heart and soul.
Having contributed to various music projects under different names, Valeria is now making her mark with her debut album, co-written with gold and multi-platinum producer SerGIO Fertitta. The album features a special summer track - “Summertime Is on” - with Dieter Meier of the legendary group YELLO. An energetic, up-tempo song - “I Do My Thing Avenue” - , which was finalized at the most iconic Abbey Road Studios, is also on the album. The video that song was shot in beautiful London.
Valeria's music is deeply personal, reflecting real emotions and stories - from grieving her mother’s passing, celebrating love, life, family and friends, to overcoming an abusive relationship.
On February 1, 2024, Valeria was officially honored by her community with a certificate of recognition and sponsorship prize for her impactful projects, like her short movie “Dancing In The Living Room” and inspirational song “Como é que foi?!” addressing the domestic abuse issue. On that song, Valeria encourages women in her second mother language Portuguese, to use the “Signal for Help” hand signal created by the Canadian Women’s Foundation (CWF). The signal is meant for women experiencing violence in home isolation.
