Imagine you've just been surfing in the Pacific and are now heading to your favorite taco stand feeling refreshed. Loud music with distorted guitars and a horn section is blaring from the radio. For the band's first few years, this was their morning ritual before rehearsals, and this carefree vibe is still reflected in Victory Kid's music and friendship today.
The band was founded in Los Angeles in 2015 by American singer Harrison Nida and Swiss drummer Carlo Ribaux. Now there are seven of them on stage, and they are known for their crazy, entertaining, and musically high-quality live shows, where the dance floor never remains empty and no throat stays dry. Their explosive mix of Californian ska and pop punk has made its mark on Spotify: their song about killer clowns has been played over three million times, earning them a record deal with the Austrian cult label SBÄM Records. The makers of the video game “Fortnite” (one of the most played games of all time) also took notice of the band and included two of their songs in the game. This was followed by tours across much of America and Europe with bands such as Zebrahead, Mad Caddies, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, as well as support slots for Alien Ant Farm, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, and many more. The band continues to enjoy the support of high-caliber musicians such as Matt Appleton (Reel Big Fish), Arion Salazar (Third Eye Blind), and Jonas Wolf (Eluveitie).
On May 8, 2026, Victory Kid will release their much anticipated second album, Catalyst, on SBÄM Records. The band recorded the album with producer Mike Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, The Paradox) at Capitol Studios and Fab Factory in Hollywood. Leading up to the release, they will drop the singles L’Appel Du Vide, Fresh Out the Oven, and You’re Alright.
