Yann Altermath is a Swiss saxophonist drawn to music that travels and brings cultures together. His work explores the connections between jazz, improvisation and the musical traditions of the Indian Ocean. Together with Mauritian pianist, singer and harmonica player Damien Elisa, he founded Noun’n Zwenn, a project shaped by séga, maloya and jazz. Recorded in Mauritius, their debut album celebrates the meeting of two musical worlds.
