Yazus, whose real name is Ihab Mondher El Manaa, is a young French-speaking rapper from Tunisia. Born and raised in the lively neighborhood of La Levratte in Nyon, Switzerland, Yazus is the son of a working-class mother and lost his father at a young age. He found an escape and a means of expression through music. His first name, chosen by his mother as a tribute to the Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfik, marked from his childhood a deep connection to Arabic music, enriched by influences from rap and French chanson. Inspired by artists such as Oum Kalthoum, Balti, and Jacques Brel, Yazus developed a passion for writing and composing early on, nurtured by a multicultural family environment.
