For this album by Yuri Member, the two Zuric musicians Manfred Hirt (Yuri Member, Gabardine) and Gabriele De Mario (Disco Doom, J&L Defer) met for the first time in 2019 with the idea of recording song sketches written by Hirt in De Mario's M.I.R Sound Studio.
Rather unexpectedly, this developed into a collaboration lasting several years, during which the two musicians met whenever possible on Thursday mornings to immerse themselves in the material for a few hours. At this magnificent snail's pace, the duo constantly questioned the already recorded tracks, removing what seemed unnecessary and trying to get as close as possible to the core of the songs. It was the slowness of the process that enabled them to reduce the arrangements of the songs over the many days of recording.
Almost seven years later, the attached collection presents 12 songs under the title «The Sea Side, The City Side» - the result of years of regular encounters between two musicians and their wonderfully slow musical collaboration.
