The music of COCON JAVEL is deliciously sour, soft and catchy with sophisticated songwriting, their performances incredibly direct, gentle, raw, touching and captivating. COCON JAVEL play loud and wild, out of an urgency for a strong existence. Against fear, for courage. A search for transformation - starting with oneself. Launched in early 2024, the band based in Bern/Switzerland has already played on many stages like Fusion Festival, Dachstock, Le Singe and Tartare de miettes. Their first EP will be released in January 2025.
The EP is a multi-layered work that blurs the boundaries between electronic music, experimental music, pop and rock. The three musicians julie b., Athina Dill and Mélusine Chappuis describe their own style as ‘Candy Roquefort’. The four tracks on the EP address pressing social issues such as the relationship to one's own body, mental health and the challenges of self-optimisation. With a mixture of honest self-love and critical reflection, the band aims to encourage listeners to engage with these issues.
