Biography
Swiss singer-songwriter Ella Suns name stands for itself: Sun-drenched country pop that caresses the heart and soul as you listen and takes you on a musical journey through your own emotional world.
Born and raised in Zurich, Ella Sun found her way to music during school. By chance she started singing in the school choir and quickly inspired her choir director as a soloist. "He didn't think I could sing alone at first. After my first audition, I was suddenly only ever put on solo parts and was allowed to sing as the only teenager in his extracurricular choir. I grew from that and knew - I just want music, music, music!"
At a songwriting camp in Bern she meets Lars Cölln. A gifted musician, guitarist, bassist and producer, who has already worked with some great artists* like Yvonne Catterfeld,, Pohlmann, Johannes Oerding, Michael Patrick Kelly, Malia, Flo Mega, Stephanie Lottermoser and many more. "With Lars it immediately sparked on a musical level. For the first time I dared to dream, to make my own music and to release it someday."
Together they write their Ella Suns first songs and set off in search of her own style - acoustic country-pop that touches, radiates energy and caresses the soul. She draws inspiration from her own life and self-experienced emotions, which she wants to connect with her music. "I often miss the real thing in music these days. Real emotions, real instruments, real feelings. That was a very important part for me and my own music.“
In Hamburg, Ella Sun records a total of nine songs together with Lars and other musicians*, locks herself in the studio for days to record and perfect her music and instruments live together with them.
With "Minimalism" her first single got released on 29.07.2022 - a song that evokes great emotions despite being musically reduced. "I always try to ask myself whether I really need things in my life. In doing so, I know exactly what I want and what does me good. That's what I want to tell others: appreciate what you have and be happy with it."
