Biography

Erdpol is the newest band project of Swiss singer-songwriter Joakim Maeder. Within a short time the 4 -member Bern-based band has already made more than 40 appearances in German and French-speaking Switzerland, attracting critical acclaim.

Now 2015 has seen the launch of Erdpol's first Album, "Grey Sky Town". The Album features 10 top tracks, and takes the listener on an emotional journey – from Greenland to America's Death Valley, from frozen arctic wastes to the hottest place on earth. Joakim Maeder's music embraces finely-balanced blend of meaningful lyrics and melodic lines. Moments of magic and melancholy reflect on the unanswered questions of life and death, of happiness and hell. Grey turns to black turns to light; evening evolves into night, the darkness into the dawn of another day. Tristful texts combine with pulsating indie pop and antagonism gives way to aspirational optimism. Let the music play!
