"A big voice in a small body."
Contagious energy, vocal power, and soaring sensitivity: this is what Laura Scaglia, a Swiss artist of Italian origin, brings to the stage, moving audiences in three languages.
After a significant musical step in New York in 2018, she took part in La Gustav in 2019 and Helvetia Rockt in 2020. She then performed at festivals such as Gurten, Stars of Sound, Les Francomanias, Les Georges, and the Fête des Vignerons, as well as in renowned venues including Fri-Son, Ebullition, Nouveau Monde, Bad Bonn, and Casino de Montbenon.
In June 2019, Laura Scaglia drew from her roots and released her first Italian single, Libertà (produced by Shuttle), a fresh and luminous track inspired by 80s Italo-pop. In June 2020, she released her second single, Hymnuance, this time in French, carrying a strong message of tolerance.
The following two years were devoted to an atypical and ambitious project: a visual album. In November 2021, she released The Calling, five songs brought to life through a 15-minute short film directed by Mei Fa Tan. Eager to reflect diversity once again, she wrote each track in a different musical style while maintaining a sincere and personal artistic identity. Each song explores a strong theme, confirming the singular voice of an independent singer-songwriter carving her own path in the French-speaking Swiss music scene. The project received media attention on both radio and in the press.
In 2022, she composed new songs with pop-rock-dance influences, some of which were performed at Rock Oz’Arènes, announcing the release of a new visual project: The Rise. The EP is accompanied by her first self-written, self-directed, and self-produced 20-minute short film. The lyrics of the songs form the narrative thread of this multidisciplinary work, at the crossroads of music and cinema. Released in April 2024, The Rise once again attracted media attention.
In the summer of 2024, Laura Scaglia performed at several festivals, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, and was chosen to sing the Swiss national anthem during the official National Day ceremony of the City of Lausanne. At the same time, she was also called upon as a vocalist on other artists’ works, notably for the film The Fuse, selected for the Oscars and the Quartz Awards.
Also committed to mentoring and artistic transmission, she joined the Swiss Voice Tour jury. Between 2020 and 2025, she was also the lead singer of the Lausanne-based pop-rock band High5.
In autumn 2025, Laura Scaglia was selected to represent Switzerland in an international singing competition. In 2026, she continues her artistic development with two new EPs: new collaborations initiated in New York, and The Pulse, the trilogy follow-up to her two previous EPs.
As an independent artist, Laura Scaglia develops a universe at the crossroads of music, storytelling, and visual creation, driven by a powerful voice, strong stage presence, and a constant desire to explore new artistic territories.
