Namir, at its core, is the musical union of the older sister, Marion, and the younger brother, Colin. Although they were nurtured by the same artists during their childhood, their journeys as musicians developed separately. Namir is thus a blend of their personal influences, their styles, their signature touch. Quickly joined by three friends, they developed their sound, inspired by alternative rock.
Namir's lyrics are in English, and their songs are most often composed on piano or guitar. Their music blends voices and guitars that uplift the mind; its calm nature is occasionally punctuated by distortions and dissonances. Greatly inspired by Radiohead, Tamino, Pixies, The Beatles, and Blur, they are deeply drawn to the contrast between peace and chaos.
The Lausanne-based band has already released a single in September 2024, as well as a five-track EP in November 2024, available on all platforms. Determined to build on their momentum, they are eagerly preparing for the new year.
