Biography
The media often refers to Paul Etterlin as a full-blooded professional musician. Although he honed his craft in the classical faculty of the Lucerne School of Music, his heart always belonged to Rock and Pop.
Paul was born and grew up in Lucerne. During his studies to become a primary school teacher, he felt inspired to study classical music. After graduating he decided to pursue a degree at the Lucerne School of Music.
As well as winning a variety of international prizes and awards, Paul’s studio work as a guitarist can be heard on over 1,500 recordings by notable artists, many of whom grace our airwaves.
Apart from having a number of chart songs with his own band and as a solo artist, he felt particularly honoured to be asked to compose the official Olympic Song for the Swiss Team at the Winter Games in Vancouver (2010). Shortly thereafter, his two solo albums entitled 'Best Friend' (2010)
and 'Calling from Memphis' (2012) were released.
'Mittendrin' was the slogan for the major 2013 campaign surrounding the German TV station SPORT1. The theme song with the same title and sung by Paul in German – a first for him – was instrumental in getting him launched in Germany.
His album 'Mittendrin und tiefer', released in spring 2016, entered the top 25 in the Swiss album charts. And, in March 2019 his new album ‘Tattooed from within’ will be available to the public.
