Ambient Rock? That got my attention! Truly though, the history of the PK Project goes all the way back to 1976. It appears Peter ( Pikey ) has been developing his musical talents for over three decades, and it shows…at first you feel you are listening to true ambienta, but then you get little surprises that are incurred by natural instruments, with some psy mixed in, building a mountain of effects and influences.
His earlier work even has something reminiscent of Madness in true eighties form, but in this current periodI hear some Led Zeppelin in his voice. This is truly a multifaceted artist. What I find most astounding is how the passion in all of Peter's music has been a continuum of all years of the years he has been influenced by. I think each piece has something unique to it. True to the ambient/downtempo feeling, I like the fact he can imbue Rock into his electronica – right down to his voice, that still seems to have the natural flower childe feel…even though there is nothing anachronistic about this man's work, he just puts different flavors into traditional electronica…this man is a true artist, always painting, singing, creating, gardening and has a love for children, being a true humanitarian he has a pleasant soul. So for electro with a seventies feel, some great guitar strumming, this man is continuing his missives well into our generation…I laud his efforts and the genuine feel to his music, and should deserve a spot as most innovative artist with a history and some grand knowledge of the musical continuum.
