- Description
During an RV road trip across the United States, Swiss DJ XTA’J carried a DJ controller, a speaker and his music through deserts, mountains and remote landscapes.
This second Road Trip Mix was recorded spontaneously near the Rio Grande Gorge in New Mexico, just after a rainstorm, with no preparation — only instinct, atmosphere and the moment.
Blending hypnotic Psytrance grooves with the raw energy of the American Southwest, the video also features drone footage captured during the journey, turning the mix into both a musical and visual travel experience.
More than just a DJ set, this project became a turning point: the video helped XTA’J connect with the US psytrance community and led to four bookings at Burning Man 2024 — his very first participation at the event.
The mix was later reviewed during the Pete Tong DJ Academy program and received highly positive feedback for its energy, flow and authenticity.
