Xta’J is a Swiss electronic music DJ and producer who has been behind the decks since 1998.
Nearly three decades of DJing have shaped an approach built around long-form progression, reading the dancefloor and creating bridges between different electronic worlds. Melodic Techno, Rave, Trance, Psytrance, Full-On, Forest and Twilight become stages of the same journey rather than separate boxes.
His path has taken him from Swiss clubs and festivals including Lake Parade, MAD Lausanne, OXA Zürich and Solstice Festival to international stages and communities such as Burning Man, Koh Phangan and the Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg.
For many years, music existed alongside another professional career. Burning Man 2024 became the decisive turning point. After playing four sets in the Black Rock Desert, Xta’J challenged a long-held belief that building a sustainable full-time artistic career from Switzerland was unrealistic. From that point on, he began reshaping his professional life around music, production and international performance.
That decision translated into strong momentum in 2026: winner of the Mystica DJ Contest at X-TRA Zürich, the release of his first solo track “Acid Drops”, followed by “Welcome to the Upside Down” with Z3nbugs on Digital Shamans Records.
His current musical direction moves from modern Full-On towards Forest, Twilight and deeper psychedelic territory, while preserving one of the defining strengths of his DJing: the ability to meet a crowd where it is and gradually take it somewhere unexpected.
Beyond DJing and production, Xta’J is also an experienced laser show designer and operator and has been part of the Mo:Dem Festival laser crew since 2025. Music, light, space and dancefloor energy are therefore approached as parts of one connected performance experience.
