The nautical metal band Elcano – who else? – dedicates a song to “the geese and goslings” which Magellan’s expedition encountered in Patagonia in 1520: “Spheniscus Magellanicus” – the Magellanic penguin.
Join the crew as they happen upon two small islands off the dismal coast where they encounter this noisy creature yet unknown to Europeans. And learn what harrowing fate the population of plump birds meets once embraced by five ships’ worth of hungry sailors … and how it wreaks revenge.
“Spheniscus Magellanicus” with its video illustrated by singer Marc Meli is Elcano’s first release since its much-applauded debut album The First Circumnavigation Of The World with its lovingly hand-drawn cover artwork in 2025, out on CD, 2LP and on digital portals.
