RHYTHM, MESSAGE AND UNITY ARE THE MEDICINE OF THE WISE MONKEY.
Deeply rooted into reggae and dub music, mixed with hip hop, electronic and black music influences, the sound of Wise Monkey Lab is an original, modern and elegant mixture, sometimes groovy and punchy, sometimes slow, mystic and full of surrounding sounds.
Wise Monkey Lab is not just a duo of producers. It is more like a musical laboratory, indeed.
Based in Locarno (Switzerland), Wise Monkey Lab is composed by Tom Siddh ZonaSun - producer, song writer, keboard player and vocalist and also leader of the first reggae band (now in standby) in south of Switzerland - and Jacques Moretti - bass player, sound designer, mixer engineer and member of T-I Sound, one of the oldest sound systems in Ticino reagion -.
On the studio side, they act as a team to create their sound, sometimes working with other musicians to add additional flavors to the productions. They can also produce other artists.
On the stage side, Wise Monkey Lab is a modular collective intended to perform their songs in live, spread the vibes and set small as big venues on fire.
The story
In January 2018 they release a first single called Roots’N’Soul. This is the beginning of a creative journey, which brings Wise Monkey Lab on several stages in their own country, having the opportunity to warm up Rootwords’ (Swiss hip hop artist) live act in Mendrisio (Switzerland).
Big Up is released in February 2019 and it is playing on national radios like Rete Tre and Couleur 3. Coming Home is the third song of Wise Monkey Lab. It is a love song and it mix modern sounds, typical reggae elements and intimate lyrics.
