ZonaSun was born in 2003 from the impulse of Tom Siddh, singer, producer, and songwriter who
found in music a powerful tool to express his worldview, despite his blindness. Tom Siddh has
always used music as a means to connect with others and spread conscious and militant
messages of resilience, self-determination, respect, and love.
Reggae is the foundation of ZonaSun's sound, but it reflects influences ranging from dub to hip
hop and even more electronic sounds. A modern style with a roots heart, it is both meditative
and engaging, intimate and powerful.
ZonaSun's music is never static, but is constantly evolving, staying up to date while never
forgetting its roots and warmth. ZonaSun's unique reggae style highlights the distinctive vocal
signature of its frontman and blends perfectly with the poetry and depth of the lyrics.
In 2006, the band participated in the finals of the European Reggae Contest at the Rototom
Sunsplash festival, and in 2008, they won the musical contest Palco ai Giovani in Lugano,
Switzerland, as well as the Let Your Sound Shine competition on the Reggae.ch website.
In 2008, ZonaSun released its debut album **Subliminal Love**, followed in 2011 by the second
album titled **Shiny Red**. Both self-produced, they received positive feedback from fans, and
some singles from both albums have been aired on Swiss radio and still occasionally find their
way into playlists.
After the release of the second album, ZonaSun embarked on a long series of concerts. Later,
live activity slowed down to allow Tom Siddh to regain balance and creative drive following the
worsening of his visual impairments.
In 2016, Tom and the band's longtime bassist, Jacques Shamano, renovated the Wise Monkey
Lab studio, which allowed them to refine production strategies and further perfect their sound.
After a first single in 2019, in 2024, they released the EP **Rising**, and in March 2025, their
third album Roots 'n' Soul will be released, summarizing their artistic journey of recent years.
