Biography
Mandrin a bard with a deep, touchingly dirty voice. Great songs about little people. About the losers' art of living, about stubbornly treading one's own path, about holding on to dignity even in moments of powerlessness. Small stories with great pride. In Swiss dialect - a language that can quickly become embarrassing if it gets too close. When Mandrin talks about his life or his observations, anyone who doesn't listen is deaf. The music invites you to do so anyway - and how! Not a note too much, not an emotion too little. Hank Williams would have enjoyed this band; or Tom Waits, or Dylan, or whatever their names are.
