“Dem Haffi Get A Beating was recorded almost six years ago, and it’s been waiting on a hard disk all this time,” says Cookie The Herbalist. “I knew it would eventually come out when the time was right, and now feels like the perfect moment to share it with the world.
With his signature blend of powerful vocals and sharp lyrics, Cookie addresses the hypocrites, the tricksters, the frauds and thieves who walk through life pretending to be something they’re not.

The track is part of the much-anticipated Corner Riddim, produced by Swiss reggae veteran Dominik “Hacki” Hackenbruch from The Gideon Soldiers in collaboration with sound engineer Stefan Büchler from Backyard Riddims. Recorded at the Backyard Studio Langenthal (Switzerland) and mixed and mastered by Rohan Dwyer (Jamaica), the Corner Riddim was created to capture the essence of the classic Lovers Rock riddims from the early '90s.

The Corner Riddim album, featuring all the tracks from the participating artists, will be released in early 2025. For now, "Dem Haffi Get A Beating" serves as an early taste of what's to come, offering fans a sneak peek into the fire and energy of the full Riddim album also starring Louie Culture, Natty King, Hezron, Sophia Squire, Prezident Brown, Perfect Giddimani, Terry Ganzie, Foxy Brown and Sheldon Senior.
