Biography

Alva Leaves is a new indie pop band from Bern, Switzerland. Veteran drummer and composer Gert Stäuble (Central Services, Mich Gerber, Züri West) has gathered a diverse crew that shares a great love for music and, needless to say, talent. Defying conventional patterns, his band, consisting of three women and three men, bridges the usual generation and gender gaps. Four experienced instrumentalists – Gert Stäuble on drums, jazz pianist Maja Nydegger (Akku Quintet, Blaer), guitarist Luk Zimmermann (Lunik) and bass player Wolfgang Zwiauer (Christy Doran, Don Li) – lay the ground for vocal newcomers Sophie Grimes and Finja Keogh to create a very contemporary sound. Their first single “Currents” is released on June 2nd, 2023.
