The fog fades away. Endless expanses glisten in the morning dew and reveal a winding field path. Your path. The sun dazzles and warms the sweet feeling of longing. And suddenly you awake. There is life in you. You want to feel, to sense, to run.
When Marcel Sprenger raises his voice, you can feel how much life is stirring him up right now. He took some time off, hiked through the Alps with tent and backpack, and came back with a realization he hadn't expected. His texts are about that. About finding and losing. About courage, hope, chaos and despair in search of one's place in the world.
The melodies of We the Young are very close. Intimate and touching, then again urgent, even pleading. They are carried by a gentle wind of exquisite sounds and subliminal rhythms into unexplored lands. Their songs are little treasures full of depth and magic. They create tension in silence. Greatness in the small. Thoughtfulness and a mood of departure.
We the Young is an alternative pop band from Winterthur, Switzerland around Marcel Sprenger (vocals, keys), Daniel Eugster (drums) and Martin Deplazes (guitar, bass). The three friends recorded their first songs in spring 2022 in a mountain hut high above Lake Walen and played their first and so far only concert the following summer. Their debut EP will be released in March 2023.
